Merri Creek Management Committee

This Plains Grassy Woodland is an endangered plant community found predominantly on private land in the upper Darebin Creek Catchment. A woodland of mostly Red Gum canopy with a shrub layer of Acacia species and grassy understorey dominanted by Kangaroo Grass (Themeda triandra). The Darebin Creek Management Committee together with landholders and Melbourne Water have been working to restore and conserve these areas along the Darebin Creek.
