Thank you to everyone who supported MCMC and Darebin Creek Management Committee over the last few days as we worked together to let Darebin councillors know how important our two organisations are to the community and the environment.
Last night, councillors at the City of Darebin decided to make changes to their procurement policy that will allow them to provide an exemption to MCMC and DCMC - meaning that they can engage us directly to continue to do our important work on our creeks and across our catchments.
Importantly for MCMC, they will conduct consultation with our CEO and Committee of Management before any work on a formal proposal is started.
Many, many thanks to everyone who emailed, called, wrote, or turned up to speak at the Council meeting to advocate for our two precious organisations. This win is yours!
