When: 9.30am - 11.30am, Sat 25th April 

Please join Merri Creek Management Committee at galgi ngarrk in Somerton (aka Craigieburn Grasslands), to explore some environmental and cultural aspects of the new marram baba Regional Parklands in the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung season of waring. We’ll walk across the gorgeous wild grasslands and visit Merri Creek, Curly Sedge Creek and some ancient beal (Red River gums).

This activity involves staying close as a group and walking in very uneven stony basalt grasslands. Some of you will want to have a second visit in May when we join with Friends of Merri Creek’s quarterly bird survey. Their last survey in biderap season (Jan-Feb) featured a flock of tiny Zebra finches enjoying ripening grass seeds and insects!

BYO binoculars if you have some. Please wear gaiters, boots and long pants. This event is most suitable for those over 8 yrs (those under 18 years must attend with a parent or guardian).
