We arrange numerous community events each year in partnership with Friends of Merri Creek and other community groups. Planting, litter clean-ups and weeding events are often held on weekends; many other events like twilight walks and workshops occur during the week.

Corporate volunteering

Volunteering with our Ecological Restoration Team

We welcome individual volunteers; including student and internship placements, to work alongside our Ecological Restoration Team. Availability can be limited by seasonal work demands and vehicle space. Past volunteers speak highly of the learning experience with our team, find out more.

Volunteer Litter Clean-ups

We can provide advice and equipment for people who want to do their own litter clean-ups safely along the Merri Creek and tributaries.

WaterWatch

We coordinate the WaterWatch Victoria program for the Merri, Darebin and Moonee Ponds Creeks, Plenty River and the lower Yarra. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer WaterWatch monitor, you can join our free WaterWatch training sessions and sign up for one of our monitoring groups.

Volunteering with our Catchment Team

Our Catchment Program staff deliver education and engagement activities with schools and community groups on biodiversity, citizen science and waterway education. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering or work experience in these areas.
