This is a Merri Creek Management Committee event (MCMC) led by MCMC Ecological Restoration Program staff in collaboration with FoMC Wednesday Volunteers.

Site information: In August last year Wednesday Volunteers planted 400 indigenous trees and shrubs at Lorne St to help restore the escarpment and improve habitat for Swamp Wallabies and small native birds.

Activities: We will be returning to Lorne St to maintain these plantings.  We will be hand weeding, and fixing stakes and guards.  There is also the possibility we will cut and paint woody weeds, and hand weed adjacent areas.

• Please bring water, sunscreen and a hat. It's important that you wear suitable protective clothing: long sleeves, long pants and enclosed shoes. We also encourage you to bring insecticide and familiarise yourself with preventative measures for the Buruli Ulcer.
• We will finish work around 12 midday.
• MCMC will supply clean hand tools and gloves; however, you are welcome to bring your own.
• Please don't attend if you are feeling unwell, or have cold or flu-like symptoms.
• Any children (under 18) attending must at all times be in the company of, and under the direct supervision of, their parent or guardian.
