When: 10am - 11.30am, Sunday 31st May
Please join our non-Indigenous staff to explore Whittlesea’s special 400 hectare galgi ngarrk (Craigieburn Grassland) Nature Reserve, a biosite of National Significance for flora and fauna.

Reconciliation Week 2026

galgi ngarrk (meaning ‘backbone’) sets the scene with its Stony Knolls and history of Golden Sun Moth (Synemon plana) rediscovery where we consider the local cultural context of Wurundjeri Country in this gorgeous part of marram baba Merri Creek Parklands.

We’ll note National Reconciliation Week and its 2026 theme All In, which calls for “all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.”

We’ll actively consider what it means to reconcile as we pay close attention to some Woi-wurrung language, history, place names, and enjoy noticing how the seven Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung seasons are reflected in our local plants, animals and waterways.
