We are delighted to share Merri Creek Management Committee’s new 2026 – 2031 strategy and refreshed brand.
This is an important moment for MCMC. For decades, our work has been grounded in community action, ecological expertise and a deep commitment to protecting and restoring the Merri Creek, its tributaries and surrounding landscapes. Our new strategy builds on those strong foundations and sets a clear direction for the years ahead.

As rapid growth continues across the northern catchment, and as climate change and increasing threats to biodiversity place new pressure on the creek and its ecosystems, our role has never been more important. The new strategy will help us strengthen our impact, deepen partnerships, and continue caring for Country and community across the whole catchment.
Our refreshed brand has been designed to support this mission. Developed through a collaborative process with input from staff, committee members, partners, volunteers, donors and community supporters, it reflects what people told us mattered most: our grassroots history, scientific credibility, local knowledge, and the power of working together.
The new identity retains the spirit and recognition of MCMC while giving us a clearer, more confident and accessible way to communicate our work. Inspired by the flow of Merri Creek and the landscapes, flora and fauna of the catchment, it reflects both where we have come from and where we are heading.
Later this year we will launch our new website, and from now you will begin to see our new brand across our emails, social media and other communications. We’re excited to show you the first application of our new brand, in the Strategic Plan 2026 – 2031.
Thank you for being part of this next chapter for Merri Creek.
